PrésentationIn this research work, we are probing into the contribution of stylistics as a new literary approach to second-year students at the English department of Bejaia University. We attempt to know whether the students will grasp this new approach. In doing so, we base ourselves on three main criteria which are developed within the body of this thesis. Our first goal is to make the students understand the theoretical background of this new area of study; then, we are going to opt for one stylistic approach which we will apply to all the texts we will study in the classroom. As to the basic questions this research work raises, they are as follows: 1) Will the use of stylistics help students in interpreting literary texts by being immersed in the web and levels of language? 2) Will this course be contributing to improving our students' writing skill by focusing on one of their main weaknesses,namely, clause distinctions in sentence syntax?
